What are e-Sports?

eSports, also known as electronic sports, are the fastest-growing sports industry in the world. It is the umbrella term for all competitive video games. If there is multiplayer, there is likely a tournament happening somewhere. The competitions are between professional eSports athletes in games such as League of Legends, Super Smash Brothers, Tekken, Counter-Strike, among others.


eSports work similarly to traditional sports events, including commentators, teams, live audiences, and famous players. Matches are broadcasted live to millions of fans worldwide through platforms like Twitch and YouTube.
